February 3, 2014

Well, we had ANOTHER snow storm right on top of the last one, so now we have TONS of snow and my ski nerves are itching like crazy, if that makes any sense at all.  And here, they don't really clear the snow.  They just kind of drive on top of it until it gets packed down enough and just deal with it.  But then in the night, they come by with their ninja bulldozers and dumptrucks and take it away somewhere.  So you'll see huge piles of snow one day, and then the next, it's just gone.  Magic.  We had a member invite us over for lunch this week, and of course we took her up on the opportunity.  So we go over there and she feeds us ciorba and spaghetti, and then for dessert, we had... more spaghetti.  But this time, instead of normal spaghetti sauce, it had a sauce made from sour cream, eggs, and sugar.  It was weird.  My companion almost puked, but it wasn't that bad.  I finished mine; I think my taste is becoming more Romanian.  So then after lunch, we shared a spiritual thought and then she's like great, now do you have any appointments?  And we're like no.  So she's like perfect.  And then She put a stick with a piece of wood nailed to the end in my hand and I was like what's this?  And she goes lopata.  Which means shovel.  So we then shoveled her walk/driveway/who front yard.  Super weird to shovel with a piece of wood.  But then her kids came outside and we made a giant slide for them with all the snow that we shoveled, and they loved that.  But their mom didn't think it was funny and got mad at them.  Oops.  Anyway, it's been good out here and I'll have more adventures to tell for next week!
